The Operations Energy Audit
We come in, map every piece of software you pay for, and ruthlessly cut what destroys your operations experience while repositioning AI/automation/subscriptions that actually work (alongside the amazing humans on your team).
Time back. Energy back. Team restored.
The Automation Abyss
Hi, I’m Leah and I once led an operations team commanding a $33m budget straight into an automation abyss.
It started slowly.
Our Primary Account Customer had requested less manual labor in our operational reporting and wanted to “see more insights.” One automated workflow led to another…which required a different system…and then another system to shuttle data…
An unexpected introduction of AI into our Zoom environment meant my teams were relying on meeting summaries…and skipping notes (and attention to body language)…
By the end of the third quarter into our “operational optimization” we’d lost our best analysts and the OOMPH that our operations team used to carry.
So I took us back to the whiteboard and pen a paper!
We mapped out every single workflow, data need, report (gosh, the insight reports!), and what looked like a chaotic automation rodeo became the blueprint for our way OUT of the abyss.
The Operational Energy Audit
The truth is, your operations teams and software systems tend DO NOT have to be in competition with one another. It isn’t humans versus the machines (yet 😏)!
I’d argue what we need right now are humans guiding the machines….
Positioning AI where it’s most beneficial
Assigning automations to reduce error of manual entry
Keeping the critical thought and analysis
Using the software to support the energy of an organization
I am coming in to do exactly what it sounds like: dissect your current tech stack and automation workflows to find exactly where the energy (and money) drain is happening. We are going to identify the bot-bloat that is draining your cash and slowing your team down. I will tell you what to delete, what to keep, and how to re-insert human oversight to get your operations team back in the driver's seat.
An operations team cannot exist on a lonely software island…you lose your best and get lost in the wake of insights after insights with no strategic application.
You get a two-week deep-dive intensive where we cut through the noise and build your new Operations Roadmap.
Access to our ‘Operations Design Playbook': A guide for managing operations professionals in a resourced organizational design (available in September).
Three 90-minute high-level strategy sessions with you or your executive leadership to redesign team roles for maximum autonomy and joy.
A comprehensive audit of your current tech stack and automation workflows to identify where 'bot-bloat' is eroding your margins.
Our final delivery of a ‘Human-Operations Roadmap' that maps how to adjust/amend/refine your tech stack and operations humans to your actual business goals. This implementation plan is one that your ops lead can execute immediately to prevent future over-automation.
Our Process
Current State Mapping
We meet for 90 minutes and discuss your current operations and software. We use guided questions to map out (at a high level) where you’ve already applied automation or where your biggest manual lift exists within your operations team.
The Deep Dive
We spend the next 10 business days digging in a little deeper. We meticulously map out current software, subscriptions, operational workflows, and remove the veil of operational obscurity.
Future State Mapping
We meet for our second 90 minutes and review the findings of our deep dive. You’ll find we’ve scored your software systems for usage and application, mapped cross-departmental workflows, and identified what bounces out of human control without checks and balances.
Roadmap Release
Our final 90 minute session is a walkthrough of our final product! Our 6-month roadmap is an audit summary of how to adjust/amend/refine your tech stack and operations humans to your actual business goals. This implementation plan is one that your ops lead can execute immediately to prevent future over-automation.
Ready to get started?
If your operation is growing quickly, there’s also an open invitation to add another subscription, AI tool, or automation that will “save you time” - and it can!
As long as the software automations you’re inviting into your critical operations infrastructure are positioned with the humans you’ve already got in your corner.
And you’ve taken a look at the energy lift to implement, adopt, and utilize software to best and highest.
